Notes, excerpts, clippings, and photographs gathered by Palmer during his travels in the West during the last half of the 19th century. Includes material on Arizona, California, Hawaii, Pocatello, Idaho, and Utah as well as on various Indian tribes and the Mormons. Also includes a copy of the auction catalogue at which Palmer's collection was sold in 1914, with the lots acquired by Harvard so marked.
